WEST SEATTLE, Washington, October 06, 2009 (WSFB) – Everyone in West Seattle has something special about the region that appeals to them. There’s something for everyone to love, including beaches, parks, restaurants, nightlife, and shopping. Some claim the overall liberal vibe of West Seattle lends itself to the general friendliness found in everyday life. Each resident surely has his or her own favorite aspect.
But there is one thing that unites us all and escalates our quality of life unilaterally: Our pizzas arrive steamy and early.
A recent survey conducted by the Pizza Efficiency-Evaluatory-Performance Society (PEEPS) shows that pizza delivery service in West Seattle far exceeds that of other sections of The Emerald City, with pizzas arriving in approximately 22 minutes, a full 8 minutes short of their ETA. But how do we stack up against our counterparts?
A sampling of results from our PEEPS, by neighborhood, listing average delivery time and a note characterizing the overall service:
* West Seattle – 22 minutes – Majority of drivers are Russian and will stop for beer on the way if precedent of large tipping has been established.
* Ballard - 28 minutes – Unusually high number of seafood-type pizzas.
* Renton - 34 minutes – High instance of plain cheese pizza with no additional toppings. Crushed red peppers not available due to historical lack of demand.
* Fremont - 41 minutes – Side order of “Oregano” available for an additional $40.
* South Park – 46 minutes – Drivers claim that late arrival is not related to the Hooters Buffalo Wing Sauce still evident on their faces.
* Capitol Hill – 48 minutes – Predominantly white sauce-based pies. Friendly drivers greet patrons with rousing “Heeee-eeeey!”
* Bellevue - 55 minutes – Excessively low tipping rates averaging 1.7%.
* Lynnwood – 61 minutes – Drivers noted as arriving in 41 minutes but spend the next 20 minutes in front of house applying additional blue eye shadow.
* Central District – N/A – Delivery service not available.
