SEATTLE, Washington, January 20, 2010 (WSFB) – Let’s face it. When the chips are down, the American people pull together and support their fellow Earthlings.
Due to the overwhelming support of local musicians, it was determined that a second venue for the Haiti benefit was in order. Jamie Chamberlin took point and coordinated an event at the Showbox Sodo for the same night to accommodate the overflow of bands who expressed an interest in performing but for which there was not enough room on the bill at The Moore.
“We have local bands that want to participate and help, and Showbox Sodo is providing that opportunity” says Chamberlin. “This really equates to a doubling of effort in terms of support for the people of Haiti.”
The West Seattle Funblog is pleased to announce ROCK4RELIEF on Thursday, January 28th at the Showbox Sodo Lounge.
The fine people of the Showbox have donated their facility, sound and light equipment, and security for the show and all bands have donated their time for the cause.
In addition, a raffle is being planned the night of the event to raise additional donations. Laura Boos, a local West Seattle artist, and others will be approaching local businesses for event support.
The good people at Triamp have donated the backline gear for the night through the gracious inquiry of Jasun Fitzgerald from The Workshop Events Seattle.
Any and all contributions will be greatly appreciated.
