WEST SEATTLE, Washington, October 05, 2009 (WSFB) – A local man has been fired from his job after tagging a photo of his own penis on Facebook which was then seen by his boss and coworkers, all of whom were his friends on the popular social networking site.
“I made a mistake,” says Thorne Henkelsten. “I’d been out drinking with friends, and after I got home I thought it would be funny take a pic of my junk and put it on Facebook. I mean, who was hurt by this? Beside me, of course.”
The update, made at 1:42AM local time on a Friday night, was viewed by more than 174 people including 42 coworkers and Henkelsten’s boss. Comments on the post range from “haha your dick is small!” to “wtf?” to “what are you wearing right now?”.
Henkelsten’s employer’s sexual harassment policy was amended hours before his termination to include a clause stating, “…inappropriate or otherwise disturbing verbiage, images, or behavior expressed in the office via any medium (be it physical, or virtual) will result in immediate termination.”
Henkelsten is expected to appeal his termination but local attorney Joef Keernesten believes the appeal to be in vain.
“You can’t take a digital photo of your penis, put it on Facebook – where you have most of your office on your friends list – and expect it to go unnoticed. Especially when your penis is so small and insignificant. Can you believe this fuckin’ guy? He definitely has a case of ’smallcox’.”
