WSFB Seeks Gardenable Spot For “Lake Of Fire” Promotion

WSFB_AERIAL_SIMULATIONWEST SEATTLE, Washington, September 26, 2009 (WSFB) – The WSFB, in conjunction with the West Seattle Department of Fire, is in the process of finding a suitable aquatic location for their “Lake of Fire” demonstration to promote marine fire safety.

The demonstration consists of biofuel slathered on the surface of a body of water to form the abbreviation “WSFB”, which will then be set ablaze and allowed to burn itself out while Department of Fire Field Marshall Vjøt Btødlek provides a verbal presentation on the virtues of marine fire safety and generally accepted principles of marine fire prevention.

The use of biofuel provides a “green” approach, and the byproduct is the delicious scent of freshly popped popcorn.

Currently, the WSFB has obtained a preliminary permit for an outdoor fire from the West Seattle City Council. While these permits are typically issued for small personal bonfires on the beach areas surrounding West Seattle, the WSFB hopes the city will find this event to be a true public service and consider this demonstration a small personal bonfire.
