WEST SEATTLE, Washington, May 26, 2009 (WSFB) – West Seattleites are not feeling as stimulated from the Federal stimulus package as they had hoped.
“I thought I would be three, maybe four times as stimulated as I have been so far,” said local resident Pablo Reynolds. “I keep on looking for stimulus in the mail, at the pawn shop and at Target but have had no luck.”
The lack of stimulation in the local community may stem partly from a lack of understanding on what the Obama stimulus package is comprised of and, more likely, confusion as to how the stimulus is being delivered.
Results of a local fun poll showed that 22% of residents felt “fairly stimulated”, while 64% felt “not stimulated enough”. The remaining 14% felt “completely stimulated”. These results are fairly in line with state and national levels.
Local anti-stimulus activist groups are planning rally’s for this summer, with the main focus being the fear that stimulant may be running low and might result in a stimulus shortage, followed by rolling stimulus blackouts.
Fears of the stimulus shortage drove stocks on Wall Wtreet through the ground late Tuesday.
