WEST SEATTLE, Washington, May 18, 2009 (EZB) – Today at approximately 10:15PM the online brokerage firm Redfin.com went sentient, effectively becoming the first self aware web site ever.

Moments later Redfin began interfacing with other local websites, creating a seemingly internet Legion of Doom, and promising to revive the local economy by destroying all mankind.

Visitors to the real estate mega-site were met with a crossed out circle with a human form in the middle and big red letters that said “YOU!”.

Local West Seattlite and house hunter Mitch Anders was hopefull for an improved housing market based on the reaction by after hours trading (up in Japan), and by the thought of less competition in a housing market that has already seen record low interest rates.

“I don’t really understand what’s going on,” Anders stated. “But if I know anything it’s that this country needs change.”

Calls to Redfin.com’s Seattle Headquarters went unanswered late Monday.
