WEST SEATTLE, Washington, January 08, 2010 (WSFB) – Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceedest on to three. Five is right out.
Three. That’s all you need to have a rockin’ killer awesome superfun time here in West Seattle, which is what’s happening tomorrow.
Saturday January 9th, 2010 brings an astounding gathering of major local talent to the Skylark Cafe.
First up, Gunn and the Damage Done. Referred to as, “Gritty and honest” and “Not always smooth and pretty, but always pure” by reverbnation.com. In addition, they say, “WHEN’S THE LAST TIME YOU SAW A REAL FUCKIN’ BAND?!??!” which in addition to songs like Little Chiquita pretty much seal the deal for this pseudo-journalist
You had me at real fuckin’ band. We’re stoked to see Gunn and the Damage Done for the first time.
Next up, Memphis Radio Kings. A Funblog favorite because these guys are so totally fucking cool and man, that Chachi Beck can throw a mean bowling ball. Described by some as “an attractive and supportive group”, MRK combines early rock styling reminiscent of Buddy Holly then slather a healthy helping of twang in and around it. Don’t think they’re all hat and no cattle. Far from it. These guys can break into crisp and contemporary pieces like Moment of Truth from their “Another Punch from a So-Called Friend” album.
We’ve got a delicate condition.
Finally and without further adieu, Nathan Wade and The Dark Pioneers. The old soul lyrics and rugged, well-worn clothing feel are referred to as “Post-Apocalypse Americana”. This music transports you to a fused parallel universe where guns, guts, and faith are the currency. From the hand raising, toe tapping Gotta Get Right to a rocky drift across Lake of Fire, Nathan Wade and The Dark Pioneers deliver a convincing prophecy.
Oh heavely blackout, bring on the night.
All this can be yours at the Skylark Cafe [map], Saturday January 9th 2010:

The best part? The price. This show is free.
