We’ve asked a few of the musicians playing in the upcoming benefit shows for their thoughts on Haiti. Beth Wood is playing at Haiti Aid at the West Seattle Eagles on Saturday, January 30th. She was gracious enough to take the time to speak with us about her thoughts on this tragedy.
West Seattle Funblog: How has the tragedy in Haiti affected you?
Beth Wood: The earthquake in Haiti is a reminder that we are all connected. It is impossible to see images from the aftermath and not feel intense sorrow and compassion.
West Seattle Funblog: Why are you donating your time and talent to this effort? How did you become involved?
Beth Wood: It is easy to feel helpless in a time like this, but one thing I can do is give my time and presence. I’m so grateful that my friend Brian Bell asked me to be a part of this.
West Seattle Funblog: Anything you’d like to say to fans out there about this concert?
Beth Wood: This evening is an opportunity for us to all come together and harness the power of community and music to give to people in great need. Doesn’t get any better than that!
West Seattle Funblog: Thanks Beth, can’t wait to hear you sing!
Beth Wood opens the show for Haiti Aid and performs at 8:30 PM.
